WildBrain is looking for an Animator to join our team!   
 
Reporting to the Producer, in this role, you will have exceptional character animation skills and considerable experience in CG animation for broadcast television or feature film productions. You excel at creating high-calibre, dramatic and action-oriented character animation, while at the same time meeting production deadlines.

What You'll Do:

• Improve acting and attitude in scenes where the storyboard drawings don’t fully support or do justice to the recorded dialogue
• Create strong drawings that push the expression, pose or perspective beyond the comfortable limits of the stock Flash build
• Establish poses that will be reused, whether throughout a sequence, episode or season
• Explore new characters – create a range of drawings that show new episodic characters in different expressions and attitudes
• Draw characters making contact with surfaces or one another
• Complete work within a rigorous production schedule with shifting daily deadlines
• Report directly to the Animation Director
• Work in collaboration with the other departments to ensure quality expectations and deadlines are met
  

What You'll Bring: 

• Degree/Diploma from a recognized animation school desired
• Previous experience designing or animating for a 2D television series
• High level of proficiency in Flash preferred (we are willing to train strong, experienced Harmony animators)
• Strong sense of acting, staging, timing and posing
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Drive, determination, creative problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Effective and professional communication skills

This is a Union position and the terms and conditions of employment are covered by a collective agreement. 

Pay Range: 

$1160 - $1350, CAD per week based on a 40-hour work week. 

Candidates are paid within the range posted, but their exact pay will vary based on the level, responsibilities and expectations of the role. We also take into consideration the experience and skills that individual brings, with consideration of our internal equity.
