WildBrain Studios is looking for a Line Producer (Feature) to join our team!

 

In this role, you will oversee the overall production process to achieve the vision of the Director within the parameters of the budget and schedule. This role is responsible for supporting the communication and cultural philosophies for the show to facilitate a productive environment. They are accountable for the on time and on budget delivery of the film.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

 

What You’ll do:

    • Lead fiscal planning, resource allocation, and budget strategy to balance creative and studio objectives.
    • Responsible for overall budget strategy and management of when where and how to use resources, ensuring creative vision is realized, deliverables are met, and budget is balanced. 
    • Prepare executive summaries, cost reports, and projections with clear analysis of production status. Include the story behind the numbers, near-term projections, and commentary on the overall production health. 
    • In collaboration with Producer, monitor inventory and productivity trends, proactively identifying risks and recommending solutions. 
    • Partner with Producer, Director, and VFX Supervisor to craft and maintain production workflows that support creative vision within budget and schedule. 
    • Lead weekly production meetings, show and tells, and participates in Studio meetings. As needed, facilitate cross departmental brainstorming to resolve complex issues. 
    • In partnership with studio, responsible for establishing and managing Shotgrid templates throughout production. 
    • Define and maintain a dailies process that supports clear communication, maintains visual standards and quota expectations. 
    • Presents new initiatives to the studio illustrating ROI, risk and change management implications. 
    • Foster a culture of regular feedback and check-ins with direct reports, ensure they are doing the same. Collaborate with Head of Production and Talent on any employee relations issues. 
    • Establish team culture and values that are aligned with WildBrain’s policies and principles, monitor morale, and recommend initiatives supporting a positive work environment. 
    • Oversee all staffing including hiring, onboarding, and training initiatives. Reviews job responsibilities and partners with appropriate stakeholders on any revisions. 
    • Communicate all updates to staffing needs (including hiring, extensions, and terminations) to Executive Leadership, Talent, and Legal. 
    • Validate and approve departmental expenses, timecards, vacation and overtime requests. Ensure any leave or overtime is rolled out strategically to support timelines, budget and goals. 
    • Meet weekly with Production Accountant to discuss EFC, Cost Report, Cash Flow timing Staffing Profile and Production Schedule changes in assigned departments. Reports to Producers and Studio Executives on status prior to Month Close. 

 

 

What you’ll Bring: 

  • Minimum 8 years in animation production management roles on feature films. 
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully schedule and execute on all aspects of feature films. 
  • Thorough knowledge of industry-wide data and asset management tracking tools and applications (i.e. Flow Production Tracking, formerly ShotGrid). 
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with creative leadership and talent. 
  • Prior experience working with a remote studio and remote tools a plus. 
  • Must be willing to travel abroad on an as-needed basis. 

 

Why WildBrain

Pay Range:

$2500 - $3650 CAD per week based on a 40-hour work week.

Candidates are paid within the range posted, but their exact pay will vary based on the level, responsibilities and expectations of the role. We also take into consideration the experience and skills that individual brings, with consideration of our internal equity.
