Overview

WildBrain Studios is looking for passionate Pipeline TD Groom to join our Asset team!

 

Our Pipeline TDs - Groom are responsible for developing and improving our Hair tools and workflows, both in python and in application (Maya – Yeti / Houdini / Unreal).  Their mission is to collaborate with our Head of Assets & Groom Supervisor to help advance our shows to the next level.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

What You’ll Do:

  • Tool Development: Work closely with key stakeholders to design and develop Groom tools, workflows, and processes to meet production needs
  • Deployment: Test and release code to production using git and our build systems
  • Support: Triage Asset Groom issues; identify, reproduce, and resolve bugs / workflow errors
  • Document: Create, and update documentation and provide training for stakeholders on new tools and processes
  • Collaborate: Actively engage with the Asset and CFX teams as well as the Pipeline TDs to improve existing systems
  • Research: Investigate and evaluate emerging technologies with the Head of Assets and Head of CFX to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.  


What You’ll Bring: 

  • 4+ experience in the animation, VFX, or games industries in Grooms, Pipeline or Technology
  • BS+ in Computer Science, Computer Graphics or equivalent industry experience preferred
  • Production experience developing for and providing in-application solutions like Houdini.
  • Experience with other DCC applications such as, Katana or Unreal, and familiarity with their relevant APIs is a bonus.  
  • Great Python and PySide skills, other languages a plus
  • Experience working with Autodesk Flow Production Tracking (Formerly Shotgrid) 
  • Experience working with Git and other revision control systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

 

Pay Range $1500 to $2250 CAD per week.

Candidates are paid within the range posted, but their exact pay will vary based on the level, responsibilities and expectations of the role. We also take into consideration the experience and skills that individuals brings, with considerations of our internal equity.
