Overview

WildBrain is looking for a Senior FX Artist to join our team starting late April.

 

This role is required to be based in BC, at our Vancouver Studio.
 
In this role, you create high-calibre dynamic and riveting visual effects while meeting production deadlines. You provide guidance and mentorship to the FX team and report regularly to the FX Supervisor informing them of any concerns or new developments.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

 

What You’ll Do:

  • In collaboration with the FX supervisor, construct creative solutions for recurring visual effects in the production  
  • Create and compose effects elements as assigned by the supervisor/director  
  • Create and deliver effects for the series in a timely manner  
  • Identify to the FX supervisor problems that could potentially affect timelines and delivery schedules  
  • Adhere to the studio’s established pipeline processes.  
  • Ensure that all production deadlines are met while maintaining production quality level requirements  
  • Participate in FX meetings and adjust/refine effects as indicated by FX supervisor or FX department head  
  • Anticipate, communicate, and troubleshoot any creative or technical issues with assistance from key stakeholders  
  • Assist with and complete production-related assignments  
    Keep current on effects techniques and technology  
  • Ensure the FX supervisor/FX department head’s instructions are carried through  
  • Recommend any team training needs to FX supervisor  
  • Carry out duties in a professional and positive manner  
  • Be a positive and creative force on the team  

 

What You’ll Bring:

  • 3+ years of experience in animation or film or game industry
  • Experience creating FX within Unreal Engine 5.3
  • Working knowledge of Blueprints and experience using Niagara/Niagara Fluids is a plus
  • Ability to take direction, collaborate and be a team player  
  • Ability to communicate in a professional and positive manner  
  • Ability to communicate creative and technical thoughts and ideas  
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently  
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on a team, often with multiple tasks and under deadline pressure  
  • Encouraging attitude towards feedback and new initiatives  
  • Openness to direction and ability to embrace change  

Why WildBrain

 

Pay Range: $1050 - $1850 CAD per week.

Candidates are paid within the range posted, but their exact pay will vary based on the level, responsibilities and expectations of the role. We also take into consideration the experience and skills that individual brings, with consideration of our internal equity.
