Reporting to the Producer and working for the 2D Supervisor, the Technical Artist's main responsibility is to marry the pipeline's application workflow with the creative direction of the show. While highly technical, the ideal candidate must have a creative eye.

What You’ll Do:
- Ensure the successful technical execution of the creative choices in Harmony, Photoshop, After Effects and related DCCs.
- Use the studio tools and methods for improving and facilitating a high-quality experience for the artists.
- Educate and support artists regarding technical issues, workflows, processes, and best practices.
- Provide and implement technical training sessions, and create and update documentation explaining our processes and tools.
- Provide support to ensure the successful flow of assets and data is maintained throughout all pipeline steps.
- Provide feedback to the Show TDs and 2D CG supervisor to implement optimizations.
- Investigate new techniques and implement them with the assistance of the CG Supervisor, Show TD, Pipeline TDs and Heads of Department.
What You’ll Bring:
- 2+ years of experience in an animation, visual effects or television production environment
- A generalist understanding of Harmony for rigging, animation, compositing etc.
- A generalist understanding of Photoshop for painting and illustration.
- Excellent abilities to troubleshoot problems and think creatively to resolve technical issues.
Nice to Have:
- A generalist understanding of After Effects for compositing.
- Experience with Flow and Qube.
This is a Union position and the terms and conditions of employment are covered by a collective agreement.
Pay Range: $1,150.00 CAD per week based on a 40-hour work week.
Candidates are paid within the range posted, but their exact pay will vary based on the level, responsibilities and expectations of the role. We also take into consideration the experience and skills that individual brings, with consideration of our internal equity.
