WildBrain Studios is looking for a Senior Modeler/Surfacing Artist - Environments to join our team!
In this role, you will have exceptional skills and experience in modeling in Maya, Zbrush and have knowledge on how to setup procedurals in Houdini. You will create Set models & Props, as well as scatter setups that accurately represent the artistic goals and story concepts of the production. This role will be reporting to the Line Producer.

What You’ll Do:
- Hard surface models in Maya according to model sheets.
- Sculpt models with Zbrush according to the references provided.
- Model trees procedurally with Houdini.
- Ensure assets are on-spec, conforming to art direction
- Implement feedback from Lead
- Alert Lead Modeler/Surfacer of any issues encountered that would impede workflow
- Assist Modeling Supervisor/Lead with mentoring modelers as needed
- Assist with maintain department wiki
- Meet production deadlines and alert asset coordinator of any foreseen delays
- Carry out duties in a professional and positive manner
What You’ll Bring:
- 2+ years of experience with modeling & texturing in animation, film, or games industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Computer Animation, or other relevant area of study and/or equivalent job experience
- Highly motivated, pro-active, with a solid work ethic and positive attitude
- Good knowledge of the production process and pipeline
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently
- Excellent visual skills and attention to detail
- Encouraging attitude towards feedback and new initiatives
- Attentive and active listening
Nice to Have
- Experience with Speedtree or any other L-Systems generators
- Experience with clay sculpting
- Knowledge of surfacing and grooming pipelines
This is a Union position and the terms and conditions of employment are covered by a collective agreement.

Pay Range: $1595- $1850, CAD per week based on a 40-hour work week.
Candidates are paid within the range posted, but their exact pay will vary based on the level, responsibilities and expectations of the role. We also take into consideration the experience and skills that individual brings, with consideration of our internal equity.
