WildBrain Studios is looking for a Senior Rigger (Feature) to join our team!

Reporting to the Producer, this role you’ll work closely with the Rigging Supervisor to create versatile rigging systems and animation interfaces to be used for animation of CG characters, props and vehicles.

This role will be required to be located in BC.

What You’ll Do:

• Rig CG assets (characters, props, sets, etc.) to achieve the intended animation performance
• Use skinning and other deformation techniques to achieve the intended rig performance in an efficient manner
• Troubleshoot, maintain and improve rigs in production, while ensuring their stability for the animation team
• Collaborate closely with production, design, modelling and shading to best achieve the intended animation performance requirements
• Review scripts and animatics for rigging needs
• Take responsibility for rigging task assignments
• Communicate with the Rigging Supervisor on concerns ahead of time
• Carry out duties in a professional and positive manner
• Contribute to inhouse rigging toolsets and workflow by making new tools, reporting/fixing bugs, brain-storming ideas

 What You’ll Bring:

• 5+ years of experience in rigging, with 2+ years in feature animation
• Solid understanding and passion for rigging and deformation techniques, including a good understanding of a corrective shape-driven workflow for face and body rigs
• Demonstrated knowledge and technical skills related to rigging in Maya, including scripting in Python
• Good understanding of 3D Math applicable to rigging needs
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, often with multiple tasks and under deadline pressure 

 Nice To Have:

• Experience working with Object-Oriented Programming concepts in Python
• Knowledge in PySide in Maya
• Maya API knowledge in Python
• C++ knowledge is a plus

Pay Range:

$1,875 - $2,400 CAD per week based on a 40-hour work week.

Candidates are paid within the range posted, but their exact pay will vary based on the level, responsibilities and expectations of the role. We also take into consideration the experience and skills that individual brings, with consideration of our internal equity.
