Overview

WildBrain Studios is looking for an experienced Technical Lead to join our team! 
 
Reporting to the Producer, in this role you will support the different departments using Toon Boom Harmony, Adobe Suite and Autodesk Flow, and to help with pipeline development and implementation, acting as primary technical support.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Offer important insight during meetings, provide Production reports and perform weekly check-ins
  • Provide technical solutions to artists and supervisors in all departments (builds, layout, animation, etc.), filing tickets and working closely with the production crew
  • Support the artists with both production and tracking tools 
    Help with the development, optimization, maintenance and documentation of production tools
  • Develop documentation and implement training/mentorship to enhance skillsets of team members
  • Provide backend support for farm render issues, Flow tool issues and Event Watcher, QA test new Magic Build releases and keep track of space allocation during production
  • Perform Technical QC and delivery checks
  • Document technical notes for post-mortem purposes
  • End of project file cleanup

 

What You’ll Bring:

  • Have strong communication skills to convey ideas clearly and concisely (a must!) 
  • Are able to take direction and work collaboratively with a positive attitude 
  • Anticipate hurdles and solve problems effectively 
  • Are organized and efficient, and able to juggle shifting priorities 
  • Have a strong work ethic 
  • Basic understanding of rendering process 
  • Experience using Toon Boom Harmony, Adobe Suite and Autodesk Flow (formerly Shotgun/Shotgrid) 

 

This is a Union position and the terms and conditions of employment are covered by a collective agreement.

Pay Range: 
Union minimum $1458 - 1700 max for role, per week based on a 40-hour work week. 
 
Candidates are paid within the range posted, but their exact pay will vary based on the level, responsibilities and expectations of the role. We also take into consideration the experience and skills that individual brings, with consideration of our internal equity.
